The ceramic or porcelain is typically separated by grout lines that hold the tile in place. It is supported with small rubber points located on the ends of the tiles, providing even spacing there between. The slurry is then placed between these spaces, locking them in place once it has dried. Excess grout needs to be cleaned from the surface of the tile with clean rags while still wet. If the grout is not cleaned, it hardens and becomes difficult to remove.
Instructions
- Pour water in the slurry and begins scraping the piece of wood. Add a little more water as you go scraping. Remove the grout larger deposits as you can with the piece of wood.
- Clean the area with a clean cloth, removing the larger pieces of loose grout.
- Pour water into the remaining slurry and the nylon cleaning pad.
- Rub small pieces of grout left in the tile. Continue pouring water on the grout as you rub.
- Rinse the tile with water and dry with a soft clean cloth.
- Continued rubbing with nylon brush and water slurry even if it shows. Dry the area when you’re done.
Tips & Warnings
- Do not allow grout to harden on the tile long since removal become more difficult.
- Do not use metal objects such as sharp knives to remove the grout as you can scratch the surface of the tile.
