How to fix the dryer drum not rotating

There are two things that will prevent the dryer drum to rotate. Check that the load is not too heavy drum to the dryer. It may be necessary to split into two separate a large load of jeans or towels loads. If that does not solve the problem, inspect and replace the belt to fix the dryer drum is not turning.

Instructions

  1. Unplug the power cord from the dryer from the wall outlet and the dryer away from the back wall.
  2. Search the screws securing the control console of the dryer on top of it. Depending on a pattern, the screw will be in the two ends of the front of the control console or in the upper edge thereof. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver, and turn the front of the console toward the back of the dryer. Most consoles will settle back on hinges.
  3. Remove the screws holding the side back of the top panel of the dryer with a Phillips screwdriver. Slide the front panel toward you and lift off the top panel of the unit.
  4. Find the screws that secure the front and side panels together. The screws will generally be in the top, inside the dryer. Take them with a Phillips screwdriver, and slide the front panel to the side of the switch of the dryer door. The switch is on the top corner of the front panel. By placing the front panel on the same side of the dryer the switch be on and not have to disconnect the wires.
  5. Extend both hands under the side right from the dryer drum and behind the fan housing. Search the idler pulley with your left hand and pull the idler wheel to the left and hold it in that position. Remove the belt from the motor pulley dryer right hand and release it slowly.
  6. Take the drum and belt dryer cabinet. A belt is frayed or has cracks should be replaced. Inspect the idler pulley by rotating the finger. The pulley should turn freely.
  7. Removed by pulling the idler pulley base outside the retaining grooves in the base of the dryer. Take the idler pulley and belt to a appliance repair center to buy replacements.
  8. Slide the base of the pulley at the base of the dryer until it snaps into position. Place the new belt on the drum, and put the belt drum inside the dryer. Spread your hands under the drum and pull the idler pulley toward the left as you put the belt around the motor pulley. Slowly release the idler pulley to put tension on the belt.
  9. Turn the dryer drum a few times to make sure the belt snaps into position on the drum and kinks.
  10. Replace the cover on the front position, and secure the sides with screws. Slide the part back of the top panel on the top front of the dryer, and push it back until the front panel is firmly seated in the front fastening clips. Fixed part rear of the top panel with the screws.
  11. Place the front of the control panel back on the top panel, and ensures the control panel with the screws. Plug the power cord from the dryer to the wall socket, and put the dryer in its operating position.
