The key to a barbeque grill that lasts without warp, crack or fall is the foundation. If you already have a strong foundation in the area where you want your grill, half the work is done, but also can, without much effort, strain your own foundation in the perfect spot in your backyard. While casting large concrete slabs can be problematic and requires professional help, a small foundation for a barbecue grill should not pose problem for a novice.
Instructions
- Scan planes BBQ grill and adds extra 5 inches (12.7 cm) on the sides of the grill; this will be a big enough foundation.
- Dig the ground to 6 inches deep (15.24 cm) where you want to go the grill, using a wide blade.
- Cut the wood to place on all four sides of the foundation pit, using a saw, and insert them on the sides. Decide which side wills the combustion chamber, and pressed wood on that side down an inch (2.54 cm), so there is a slight slope away from the combustion chamber.
- Deposited a layer of gravel an inch (2.54 cm) at the base of the foundation trench using a shovel, then placed the rods or bars of metal on the gravel, cut to size.
- Mix the concrete according to the manufacturer’s instructions exactly. Pour the concrete into the pit spreading it with the back of the wide blade. Use a splinter or piece of wood or trowel to smooth the surface of concrete. Place a flat side on the top of the foundation wall and the other at the bottom and thus paves, in such a way that it forms a small slope in the concrete. Let dry as much as the manufacturer recommends before starting the construction of the barbecue grill.
