Repair a leak in a concrete ceiling can be a frustrating task. However, before you call an expensive contractor, you can fix the roof yourself with a patch of concrete to plug the leak and a layer based latex paint to seal the surface permanently. However, you must know the proper surface preparation before starting techniques and correct methods of application that will help you succeed.
Instructions
- It reaches the ceiling with an extension ladder.
- Cut the tip of the patch of concrete pipe. Load the tube into the caulking gun.
- Apply the patch in the areas of roof leaks. Smooth it with a metal spatula of 3 to 5 inches (7.62 to 12.7 cm) wide. Work quickly before the patch to dry.
- Let the patch dry for a full day.
- Clean the roof surface with a pressure washer. Allow the surface to dry before proceeding.
- Pour paint based on a 5 gallon (18.9 liters). Fill it about halfway. Use plush cover the frame.
- Apply the foundation in the concrete ceiling with roller, sealing patches efficiently. It begins at a distal end and works back towards the stairs. Allow the surface to dry for two full hours.
- Apply the paint in the same way you did with the layer basis.
Tips and Warnings
- Falls from extension ladders can be fatal. Always follow to the letter the instructions printed on the side of the stairs.
